I am amazed that freshly-made coffee I pour into the carafe at 8:00 one morning is still hot in the evening and is barely tepid at 9:00 a.m. the next day. (Carafe is preheated with hot water.) Sleek design (looks nice on the buffet counter), easy pour, holds eight full 5-oz cups, good price. I'll buy another Zojirushi Premium Thermal Carafe (from amazon.com) just for tea. (Freshly-brewed tea poured into the clean carafe ended up tasting somewhat like ... something (muddy stale coffee??), but definitely not like good strong tea. This thermal carafe is a good product that, as promised, keeps liquids hot for many hours.
Description of Zojirushi Premium Thermal 1-Liter Carafe, Brushed Stainless Steel
For use at home, at work, at the barbecue or beach, this convenient thermal carafe keeps beverages warm and easy to serve. A vacuum glass liner keeps your beverage warm even for extended periods ( 154??F @ 10 hrs. / 123??F @ 24 hrs). The contemporary, brushed stainless exterior is attractive and easy to clean and sits on a swivel base so it's easy to grab from any angle. Holds 1 liter (34 ounces).This vacuum-insulated carafe maintains and serves any hot or cold beverage at the proper temperature. Press your thumb against a button on the handle, and the spout opens to allow pouring. The carafe's satin-finish, stainless-steel exterior and black plastic accents create a modern, functional appearance. Rinsing the carafe's glass interior with warm water is usually the only cleaning necessary, but swirling a teaspoon of mild detergent diluted in warm water around with a soft sponge or cloth removes stains.
