Customer Review: A useful tea accessory

Surprisingly attractive in appearance, this airpot also performs. They promise 10 hours of temperature mantanence, and they deliver. It keeps my tea piping hot from the time that I make it in the morning until I leave work in the evening...that is if I don't drink it all before then. I sit it on the corner of my desk and have an instant hot cuppa any time I want it. I've also tried iced tea, and it kept that so cold that there was still ice in the bottom of the container when I was finished with the drink (and I only put in a handfull).
The only little niggle that I have with this is the tea infuser. There is no mesh screen in the bottom (though there are screens in the sides) so you have to either toss the leaves with water in them, or tip the infuser sideways in order to drain the water back into the airpot. Regardless, I still love to brew tea in the airpot. I have used loose tea and tea bags; both work wonderfully. Any variety of tea keeps beautifully in this. I've used it for black, herbal, green, and oolong teas.
Just a couple of tips: pre-heat with tap-hot water before using boiling water from the kettle and rinse with soapy water after use. Also, don't let it tip during transport. It isn't leak proof, but does travel very well as long as you keep it upright. I take it back and forth with me to work nearly every day and have had no spills to date.
This was worth every penny and I hope to continue using it for years to come. I love my airpot!

Capable of keeping 1 quart of a beverage hot or cold for up to 10 hours, this lovely vacuum thermos is perfect for dispensing hot tea all day in the home or at the office. It its center, the thermos contains a removable plastic tea strainer with fine-mesh screens. Filled with loose tea, the strainer lowers into hot water within the thermos so the tea can steep and then be discarded. After that, dispensing tea is merely a matter of pushing the big button on the top, which forces tea through the spout. The push-button locks so the thermos can be transported by its folding handle. Glass-lined, the thermos has a large mouth to accommodate ice cubes for cold beverages. It smoothly spins 360 degrees on a swivel base and stands 9 inches high. The thermos is plastic, colored a warm café au lait, with a brushed-aluminum band around the middle.
